Join the Claim: our 2025 year in review

If the last few years have showed just how quickly consumer issues can escalate, 2025 proved that when people feel informed, supported, and backed by experts who genuinely care, they take action.

This year, more than ever, Join the Claim has been the first port of call after widespread corporate wrongdoing. A trusted hub where people can understand their rights, find clear guidance, and, when appropriate, connect with a regulated law firm ready to fight their corner.

As we look back on the last twelve months, one thing is clear: consumers are looking for information, answers, and ways to stand up to companies that breach their rights.

We’re proud to answer that need.

Shining a light on the year’s biggest consumer issues

2025 saw a surge in cases where organisations failed to protect their customers, employees, and the people who rely on them.

Across the year we produced fast, accessible, and trustworthy updates on major incidents, including:

Our reporting helped turn confusion into clarity, keeping thousands of people informed at the point they needed it most.

A record year for consumers seeking answers

In the middle of widespread uncertainty, demand for clear, trustworthy guidance soared. This year:

  • More than 150,000 people used Join the Claim to understand their rights after being caught up in a data breach
  • Tens of thousands went on to explore potential routes to compensation by connecting with regulated UK law firms through our platform
  • Visits to jointheclaim.com increased by 300% from last year
  • Over 10 million people watched one of our most popular TikTok explainer videos
  • Over 6,000,000 people engaged with our social media content.

Over the last 12 months our blogs, guides and explainer pieces reached a wider audience than ever before, helping people make informed decisions during moments of stress and urgency

Standing up for you

Across 2025, our focus stayed exactly where it belonged: with the people who felt overwhelmed, ignored or unsure where to turn. Our job was to make the complicated feel clear. And this year, we built our strongest collections of consumer guides yet.

We created practical, plain-English explainers on issues affecting millions across the UK, including:

This year also saw the launch of Join the Claim on Instagram, giving people quick, accessible updates on scams, cyber incidents and consumer rights.

We also introduced our new monthly newsletters, helping thousands stay ahead of the biggest issues without having to hunt for updates. And we began building our new Campaign Hub, a central space where the public can follow live issues and track early-stage investigations and concerns before potential group actions begin to form.

Every piece of content we produced this year—every blog, guide, explainer and update—had the same purpose: to ensure people weren’t the last to know when their rights had potentially been undermined.

Expanding awareness of opt-out collective actions

This year, we also began to raise awareness of opt-out collective actions — a type of claim most people have never even heard of — despite the fact that they can mean compensation for millions of people.

When these cases go live, everyone affected is automatically included unless they opt out. But because the process can be confusing, in some cases, fewer than 1% of eligible people claim what they’re owed. That’s a problem we want to fix. So, in 2025, we focused on cutting through the jargon.

Through TikTok and plain-English explainers, we reached huge audiences. One of our videos hit 10 million views, showing just how many people want simple, trustworthy information about their rights.

Our goal is simple: to help you understand the claims you’re already part of and direct you safely to the official claim websites. And we’re just getting started.

In 2026, we’ll be expanding the number of opt-out collective actions listed on Join the Claim, making it easier than ever to see what you might be entitled to and how to take part.

Building better tools

Behind the scenes, we began shaping a more intuitive, streamlined and transparent user journey this year. That included:

  • Cleaner, clearer eligibility checkers
  • Refined claim-sign-up flows with stronger up-front information.

We also improved our website this year to make everything easier to use and more transparent. These improvements reflect what Join the Claim stands for: a simpler, more open route to financial justice for consumers.

Looking ahead to 2026

2026 will bring new challenges, but also new opportunities for consumers to stand up for their rights with confidence.

Our mission remains the same:

  • To shine a light on unfair practices
  • To empower consumers with clear, practical guidance
  • To ensure no one has to navigate legal uncertainty alone.

And, when appropriate, to connect people with experienced, regulated law firms ready to pursue justice.

Thank you for putting your trust in us this year. We’re just getting started.
