The pharmaceutical giant offered $6.475bn (£5.2bn) over 25 years to former customers with ovarian cancer claims. This settlement did not address claims of mesothelioma. In total, the company set aside about $11bn (£8.8bn) to address the talc litigation.
A study by the Journal of Clinical Oncology found a connection between use of talcum powder on the genitals and ovarian cancer.
