Flutter Entertainment, the company behind Paddy Power and Betfair, has confirmed a data breach that’s exposed personal information of a significant number of customers. The breach has affected users across both betting platforms.

According to Flutter, the breach involved access to personal information like:

  • Usernames and email addresses
  • The first line of customers’ home addresses and their city
  • Device ID and IP address
  • Details of recent account activity

As yet, it looks like no passwords, ID documents or payment details were accessed. However, customers should look out for phishing emails, texts and scams – especially those claiming to be from Paddy Power or Betfair.

At least one leading UK law firm is now exploring a potential group action against Flutter Entertainment.
