Overview
In December 2021, food manufacturer Greencore experienced a cyberattack in which the hackers managed to access sensitive HR data. Affected employees were not told their personal information might have been exposed until February 2022.
The stolen employee data is said to include names, contact details, job titles, salary information, holiday and absence records, dates of birth, National Insurance numbers, passport numbers, and bank account details. If this data gets into the wrong hands, it could lead to scams, fraud, and ID theft.
